Today’s feature is Jeweler Sparklystrandz. I can totally identify with her. She is self-taught like me and she has learned many different styles of jewelry making. Take a look at her Etsy shop. She is a member of the Etsy Texas Crafters and the Christian Artist Street Teams as well as being a member of SRJAD (Self-Representing Jewelry Artist Designer #1106). There are so many nice, classic pieces in her shop. My pick is this pendant.  Elegant and simple but also different from what you normally see.

Featured Artist: Elektra Jewelry Design

January 20th, 2008

Hello again.  I figured I’ll do another feature today especially since I am way behind on my 90/90 challenge.  Hey!  A fellow New Yorker.  Of course, I just have to feature her.  Thank you for featuring me in your blog too.  Dina’s designs are inspired by her Greek background and her visits to that country.  She enjoys using gold vermeil, Bali sterling silver, vintage glass, murano glass in her unique pieces. You are assured of a one-of-a-kind piece of art when you visit her shop.  I was torn as to what to pick as my favorite.  Hmmm…..

I really like this jade necklace.  It is earthy, a bit funky and I just love the choice of colors used.  It will go with many different outfits.  Please be sure to check out Elektra’s shop on Etsy.  Here is the link

Also her blog can be found here

You won’t be disappointed.  Custom orders are welcome and purchases come nicely packaged ready for giftgiving.  Remember….. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!

Etsy: Your place to buy & sell all things handmade

Sorry I have not been able to keep up with my goal of a daily featured Etsy Artist. There are so many wonderful craftspeople to feature it is difficult to choose who should be next. So I figure I’ll start featuring those shopkeepers who have only had a few sales to help promote their shops

George McKim studied art in college and he works as a graphic artist. His art has been exhibited locally in galleries. How cool is that! When visiting his shop on etsy you will find fabulous colorful collages, linoleum cut prints and notecards made from any of his art. I especially like the sunflower linoleum cuts.

Be sure to visit his Etsy shop at http://georgemckim.etsy.com . His blog can be found at http://www.georgemckim.blogspot.com and his website is http://www.george-mckim.com where you can find more of George McKim’s art.

Featured Etsy Artist: CoconutPalmDesigns

January 5th, 2008

CoconutPalmDesigns is a Canadian graphic designer living in Belize and has the honor of being my first featured Etsy Artist here. She is trained in graphic design and is pleased to be using her training in creating wooden signs. Custom orders are also welcome. Imagine having a custom made welcome sign outside your home, or your vacation cabin, or in your garden?

Welcome Sign

You can also find original artwork in her etsy shop in the form of ACEO’s or art cards. ACEO’s measure just 2.5 by 3.5 inches and are an inexpensive way to own an original piece of art. Joanne’s cards are very beautiful and she works in various mediums. I like her watercolors. She inpires me to do more drawing in my medium of choice, colored pencil. Here is my favorite. I wish I could be there right now.

I like frogs. The letters remind me to Fully Rely On God. AMEN!!
